Fifteen Bloody Percent

That's howThat's how many Americans believe in Evolution. My brilliant friend Mercurio D. Rivera (a.k.a. Evil David) sent me this link to a recent CBS News poll on the subject. Not surprisingly, Evolution's supporters come mainly from the following groups:liberalspeople who rarely or never go to churchpeople with a college degree or higherEvolution's opponents come primarily from these groups:conservativeswhite evangelicalsweekly churchgoersGuess which group of dingbats is currently running the country. I call it creeping idiocy. In happier news, the world is about to become a better and more just place because the lovely and talented Erica DePiero is about to set forth on the next leg of her adventurous life in Indonesia to do important and sometimes dangerous work for the International Rescue Committee. She promises to blog from there and I will post a link as soon one is created. In the mean time check out this fascinating blog called Chasing the Fourth Crusade by historical fiction author Nicole Galland, which was brought to my attention by the eagle eyed and razor-witted Claire Light who often blogs for Other Magazine. It's at times like these that I feel the need to remind myself that a lot of good people doing good things still exist in this cockeyed world.
