(Re)Cycler nominated for Rainbow List

Every year, the American Library Association selects a handful of books with gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered content to recommend for young people. This year, (Re)Cycler is a nominee.I'm really proud of this because I've received a lot of feedback from young readers telling me how happy they were to see a bisexual character painted so lovingly. Apparently, there aren't a lot of bisexual characters in Young Adult fiction and my bi character (I won't tell you who it is, in case you haven't read the book yet) is one of the most likable in the story--not to mention totally swoon-worthy. (Keep guessing).Check out the The Rainbow Project website for past winners and other current nominees. And remember, in some quarters, like the Scholastic Book Fair, books with GLBT characters are still being censored.
