Hair Hack #1

This one comes from the ever-resourceful and well-coiffed Justine Larbalestier, via Davachan Salon in New York.If you're like me and many straight-haired folks, your hair looks best in humid weather and damp climates when it gets that lovely gentle wave. Every day in London, for example, is a good hair day for me. But now, you can make it happen anywhere. Here's how. After washing or just wetting your hair, spray some product in it (I use Bumble and Bumble Thickening spray, but I think just about anything will work). Then, while it's still damp, hang your head upside own and start scrunching your hair dry with a t-shirt. Push from the ends of the hair upward. The idea is to drive the moisture into the roots. Somehow, this prevents the weight of gravity from pulling the hair straight. I did this for about ten minutes and voila, beautiful, natural-looking waves. Honestly, I was stunned by the result.Sadly, I did not document it or I would be attaching a photo. But trust me, my beautiful flowing waves were remarked upon often that night. So go forth and scrunch. And think of Justine while you do.
