YA for Obama
Fantastically funny YA author and Obama supporter, Maureen Johnson, has done us all a huge favor by launching a new social networking website called YA for Obama. Some very big names in young adult fiction will be blogging there, including Scott Westerfeld, Holly Black, Meg Cabot, and Judy Blume. Yes, I said Judy Blume! (Forgive me, I'm having a fan girl moment here).I will also be contributing a blog post on reproductive freedom.Did I mention that Judy Blume is involved?Anyway, here's a quote from the YA for Obama "about" page:
YA for Obama is a community of YA writers and readers and friends who have joined together because of our commitment to Future United States President Barack Obama. We think he’s the right person for the job. This is a social networking site, which means that when you join (it’s free! easy! takes about a minute!) you can do LOADS of stuff around here. You can make your own page, contribute to the forum, upload your own photos and videos, and make friends who love Obama as much as you do. (Presuming you do. You probably do if you are here. Even if you do not, you are still welcome.)
See? Resourceful, idealistic, and inclusive. Everything you want in an Obama social networking site. I'm thrilled to be involved. Please, go check it out.Get involved!
