I was wrong.
Alright, so he didn't exactly say that, but he did admit that with regards to the US military's adventures in Iraq, "much of the intelligence turned out to be wrong." Well, jeeze, Mr. President, do ya' think?Later in his speech, he said that he would not pull out US troops until a host of unattainable objectives had been met, such as "when the terrorists and Saddamists can no longer threaten Iraq's democracy, when the Iraqi security forces can protect their own people, and when Iraq is not a safe haven for terrorists to plot attacks against our country."Does that sound to anyone else like a blank check? He also added that he would not abide by any timetables set by "politicians in Washington."Excuse me, Mr. President, aren't you a politician in Washington?I understand his reluctance to provide any hope of an end date to the Iraq fiasco. The day the war the ends is the day history records that it was a failure.
